Solar Opposites News, Rumours, How To Watch And Trailers

Rick and Morty fans rejoice – because one of the minds behind the animated cult hit is kicking off a brand new show called Solar Opposites.

This will be a Hulu exclusive, and looks to be just as bizarre, adult and hilarious as it’s big sister show. If you’re thinking about tuning in, here’s everything you need to know. In the meantime, check out everything we know about Rick and Morty season 4.

When does Solar Opposites start?

Solar Opposites kicks off on 8 May 2020. The first season (consisting of eight episodes) will all drop on Hulu at once, so you can binge them all in one session if you so wish.

Even though it’s not aired yet, the show has been ordered for two seasons, totalling in sixteen episodes. So once the first season is over, you can be reassured that there’s lots more on the way.

How can I watch Solar opposites?

Solar Opposites is a Hulu exclusive. If you’re in the US, it’s pretty easy to sign up. You simply head on over to the Hulu website, sign up for an account and choose either the ad-supported version ($5.99 per month) or the ad-free version ($11.99 per month). Both offer a month’s free trial.

If you’re not based in the US, then this isn’t as easy. The Hulu website uses geo-targeting to block people from outside of America accessing the site. However, we’ve found a workaround for signing up for a Hulu account, but a fair warning that it requires a bit of work.

The first thing you’ll need is a VPN (virtual private network), which changes your IP address so you can browse the web as if you’re based in another country. For watching Hulu, we’d recommend either NordVPN or ExpressVPN for their wide range of servers and competitive prices.

If you’d like more options, you can also check out our lists of the best VPNs for streaming, as well as the list of the best free VPNs. However, a fair warning that free VPNs don’t usually have enough servers to be able to stream efficiently. Plus, most of the paid ones offer free trials anyway, so you could binge the whole of Solar Opposites without needing to pay for your VPN.

Once you’ve downloaded your VPN of choice, simply choose a US server and then create an account on the Hulu website. When you get to the payment section, things get a little complicated, as the site wants payment information that’s tied to the US.

You can get round this by purchasing a Hulu gift card from Walmart for either $25 or $50, and then using that as your payment information with no need to input a credit card. If you’d like more details on this process, then take a look at our piece on how to watch Hulu from abroad.

Who are the cast and crew?

The voice actors for the series feature some familiar names, including Justin Roiland, the voice of Rick and co-creator of Rick and Morty. Here’s the main cast members that we know about so far:

  • Justin Roiland as Korvo
  • Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack
  • Mary Mack as Yumyulack
  • Thomas Middleditch as Aeden

This show is a co-creation between Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan – Dan Harmon from Rick and Morty isn’t involved at this current time. Solar Opposites was originally going to be on Fox broadcasting, but was then shelved. Fortunately Hulu has given the show a revival.

What is the plot about?

Prepare yourselves for another extra-terrestrial themed adventure, as Solar Opposites focuses around an alien family who take refuge in middle America, only to be in complete disagreement on how much they love/hate the lifestyle.

Roiland hinted at a panel in Comic Con that the show would be quite violent, as the characters – despite being very nice – kill a lot of people accidentally because they just don’t understand human culture.
